"Typically, animals are central to my work, in the past, especially dogs. Important in this choice is the translation into paint and a certain sense of a clichéd threat that I wish to evoke in the viewer. In recent years I have worked more with pasto techniques and I have exchanged smooth brushstrokes for the palette knife. Besides some landscape works (with duck’s bones and mice skulls), the dogs have been joined by marine animals in my search for the border between suspense{tension} and the all too familiar or even the banal.
